            and Terms

Contact us

You can contact us to request a repair by filling out the form in our Contact us section. This form allows us to keep an accurate record of your requests, ensuring optimal repair tracking and clear communication.

Appointment

Once we receive your form, we will contact you to schedule an appointment at one of our two service locations (Montréal or Vieux-Longueuil) so you can drop off your musical instrument. We will provide you with the exact address at that time. Our workshops are accessible by appointment only.

As soon as we receive your instrument, we will store it carefully on our shelves until it is inspected. The inspection will be conducted within the timeframe you choose, based on the selected rate(regular or rush).

Rates and deadline

Standard rate: $95 per hour
Repairs of your instrument are typically completed within 2 to 4 months after it arrives at the workshop.
Note: Particularly complex repairs may take longer than 4 months.

Depending on the volume of urgent repairs (Rush) we have to perform, wait times for repairs at the regular rate may vary.

Rush rate: $125 per hour
Work completed in less than 2 weeks

(depending on the nature of the problem and the availability of the necessary parts).

We greatly appreciate your patience while you wait for the standard-rate . We will contact you as soon as the inspection of your instrument is complete. Thank you for respecting our processing times.

Estimate

Although we do not provide an estimate of the total cost of repairs, we believe that transparency is essential. Here is our process for each repair:

Inspection

The first hour of work on your instrument is devoted to opening it up, disassembling it, and, if possible, conducting initial tests.

In some cases, an instrument may first require basic repairs (power supply repair, soldering, potentiometer cleaning, etc.) before we can test the rest of its functions. If this is the case, we will inform you before proceeding.

Following the inspection and testing, we will be able to provide you with our findings and recommend the necessary repairs. We will inform you of the approximate costs associated with parts and the required labor. You can then decide whether or not to proceed with the suggested repairs.

Please note that the initial diagnosis is billed at a flat rate of $95. This amount is due regardless of whether or not you choose to have the repairs done.

Repairs

Throughout the repair process, we’ll keep you updated via email to inform you of any developments and the cumulative costs. To stay within your budget, we’ll ask for your approval before proceeding with the repairs. To maximize our efficiency, this uptade is performed approximately every 3 to 4 hours of work.

Cost Variations:

Certain factors are beyond our control, including fluctuations in the prices of parts and shipping costs.

Unforeseen circumstances:

When repairing or restoring an instrument, it is common to discover new issues. If additional work is required, we will let you know. We will also keep you informed of any delays related to shipping or the unavailability of replacement parts.

When making modifications, we often need to drill holes in the chassis to install new components; however, no drilling will be performed without your prior approval.

Important

Restoring a vintage musical instrument is sometimes similar to restoring a classic car. Some projects prove to be particularly complex due to various factors: prolonged storage, water damage, obsolete parts, lack of schematics, etc. Because of these challenges, the work can take several months and require a significant expense.

Repairs Completed

Once repairs are completed, we leave your instrument powered on to verify that it is functioning properly and to ensure that no issues arise during “warm-up.” In some cases, the “post-repair burn-in” may take several days to ensure long-term reliability.

Pickup

Once the instrument is ready, we'll send you the detailed invoice and schedule the pickup.

From the time you are notified, you have a maximum of 10 days to pay the invoice and pick up your instrument by appointment. Please note that no instrument will be released until the invoice has been paid in full.

Late Payments and Storage Fees:

After the 10-day period, any late payment will result in interest of 2% per week on the total invoice amount.

In addition, a storage and insurance fee of $5 per day will be charged. These penalties apply separately and individually to each instrument left at the workshop.

Garantee

We guarantee labor and replaced parts for a period of 90 days.

This warranty takes effect on the invoice date, which is the day your instrument’s repair is officially completed.

We strongly recommend that you test your instrument within a few days of picking it up. If you notice anything related to our work, please contact us immediately. We will take the necessary steps to resolve the issue. This will allow us to address the problem effectively while your 90 day warranty is still fully in effect.

We recommend that you transport your instruments in cases or pack them properly to prevent damage during travel.
